Onlangs lag er een dode ransuil bij ons in de tuin. Wat zonde van zo'n mooie vogel. Afgelopen jaren zat er in de winter een groepje ransuilen bij de buren in een oude boom. een roestboom noemen ze dat volgens mij. Ze komen elk jaar terug om daar te overwinteren. Ik telde er de laatste keer een stuk of zes.
Twee jaar geleden is deze boom omgewaaid tijdens een hevige storm. De winter erna zag ik één keer een ransuil in een boom in onze boom. Daarna niet meer.
Van een buurvrouw hoorde ik dat er ergens anders in het dorp ook pas een dode ransuil is gevonden. Ik heb nog gebeld naar de plaatselijke vogelwacht. Ze vroegen of de uil geringd was, dat was niet het geval. 'Dan kunnen we er verder niets mee'. In een plastic zak in de afvalcontainer doen was het advies.
Het is de natuur, die dingen gebeuren. Maar het is toch zonde van zo'n mooie vogel.
